Ebbw Vale Male Choir

On Saturday April 12, Ebbw Vale Male choir traveled to Park End Presbyterian Church in our capitol, Cardiff, to perform at the wedding of Helen Sarah Carthew to Robert Paul Russell. The choir had been invited to sing for the wedding guest prior to the service and during the signing of the register. The choir performed a selection including ‘Gwahoddiad’, ‘Let it be me’, ’Solitaire’, ’Angels’ and ‘Myfanwy’, all were warmly received by those present.
After the wedding, both guest and chorister made the short journey to the magnificent new cricket stadium at Sophia Gardens. This was an appropriate venue for the reception as Mr. R.P. Russell is the Chairman of Glamorgan Cricket Club. Other notable guests included Mr. Marcus Russell, Manger of the group ‘Oasis’ and also director of Ebbw Vale RFC, and Mr. Patrick Harrington Q.C., president of the Ebbw Vale Male Choir. Paul, Marcus and Patrick are all from Ebbw Vale.
Ebbw Vale Male Choir would like to publicly thank the bride and groom for the refreshments and kind hospitality provided. The choir was conducted by Mr. Matthew Hunt and accompanied by Jason Childs.
The Choirs Annual Concert will be held in Christ Church, Ebbw Vale on Saturday May 31. Special guest artist will be Ebbw Vale’s own Mandy Starr and former ‘Phantom of the Opera’ star, Peter Karrie. The concert is always the high point in the Ebbw Vale calendar, and this year’s concert will be no different. Get your tickets as early as possible.
